God of Sports Expert Verdict on Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket:
- Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket is the Kidambi Edition intermediate racket — and the most important thing to understand about it is the 6.5mm slim shaft. At this specification, the Nitrix Attack carries the same shaft diameter as Hundred’s Battle 900 professional range and is narrower than any other racket in the intermediate Nitrix series: the Nitrix Thunder uses 7.0mm and the T-Fusion series uses 6.8mm. A 0.5mm reduction in shaft diameter from 7.0mm to 6.5mm meaningfully reduces the shaft’s frontal aerodynamic cross-section, lowering drag during the swing and allowing the racket head to reach higher velocity at contact for equivalent player effort. This is not a marginal difference — it is the primary reason the Nitrix Attack feels fast and responsive through the swing in a way the Thunder and Tornado do not.
- The Kidambi Edition branding places this racket in a specific cultural context that matters for the Indian market. Srikanth Kidambi — former world number 1, BWF World Championships medallist — is known for explosive first-strike attacking play: sharp drives, aggressive smashes from mid-court positions, and relentless front-foot pressure. Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket translates this attacking identity into an intermediate specification: the slim 6.5mm shaft for fast aerodynamic head speed, head-heavy balance for smash momentum, and flexible flex for accessible power assist. The parallel at professional level is the Nitrix Pro (also Kidambi Edition), which shares the 6.5mm shaft but uses hard flex and M46X Japanese carbon for technique-demanding precision.
- The choice between 4U and 5U is a meaningful one at this racket’s price point. The 4U adds mass for rear-court smash momentum — better for singles players who build their game from the baseline. The 5U reduces total swing weight for faster initiation — better for doubles players, mixed doubles front-court players, and multi-format players who rotate across positions and need quicker net transitions. Both carry the same Rs. 6,590 MRP. Choosing the wrong weight grade for your playing context will mean the racket never quite feels optimal, regardless of how good the shaft specification is.
- At MRP of Rs. 6,590, Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket sits above the Nitrix Thunder (Rs. 5,590) and below the Nitrix 70 Volta Pro Series. The Rs. 1,000 premium over the Thunder buys the 6.5mm slim shaft advantage and the Kidambi Edition identity — but the Thunder’s Torsion Stop System and Graphite Lab Build are exclusive to that model. Players who prioritise smash direction accuracy and structural stability should consider the Thunder; players who prioritise aerodynamic shaft speed and the Kidambi aesthetic should choose the Attack.
Technology Breakdown of Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket:
- 6.5mm Slim Shaft — Aerodynamic Speed Advantage: The 6.5mm slim shaft is the defining technical specification of Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket. Among Hundred’s intermediate range, this is the narrowest shaft available — sharing the same diameter as the professional Battle 900’s VaporShaft XS and sitting 0.5mm narrower than the Nitrix Thunder (7.0mm) and the T-Fusion Tornado (6.8mm). A narrower shaft presents a smaller cross-sectional area to the air during the swing arc, reducing drag and allowing the racket head to accelerate more efficiently toward contact. For the player, this translates to faster shuttle speed on smashes and drives for equivalent swing effort, and quicker wrist snap on net attack shots where the slim shaft’s reduced moment of inertia allows faster rotation. This aerodynamic advantage is consistently more pronounced in fast exchanges — the sort of rapid-fire attacking sequences that characterise Srikanth Kidambi’s style of play.
- Flexible Shaft — Power Assist for Intermediate Technique: The flexible shaft stores energy during the swing arc as the shaft bends under acceleration, then releases that energy at contact — amplifying effective head speed for players with moderate swing speeds. Combined with the 6.5mm slim aerodynamic profile, the Nitrix Attack’s shaft delivers both swing-speed advantage (from low drag) and elastic energy return (from flex). This combination produces attacking shots that feel fast and responsive without demanding the precise, clean technique that stiff shafts require. For intermediate players transitioning toward aggressive attacking play, this is a meaningful accessibility feature.
- Head-Heavy Balance — Rear-Court Smash Momentum: Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket uses a head-heavy balance to concentrate swing weight at the frame head, increasing rotational momentum during the downswing. The practical result is more mass behind each smash — the shuttle is hit with greater impulse from equivalent swing speed. Combined with the 6.5mm slim shaft’s aerodynamic speed advantage, the Nitrix Attack delivers both fast head speed (aerodynamics) and high smash mass (head-heavy balance) — the two complementary contributors to shuttle velocity on attacking shots.
- Reinforced Carbon Fibre Construction — Structural Stability Under Attacking Load: Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket uses a reinforced carbon fibre frame that maintains structural consistency under the repeated impact loading of competitive play. While the construction specification is not as premium as the Nitrix Pro’s M46X Japanese carbon or the Nitrix Thunder’s Graphite Lab Build, the reinforced carbon construction is engineered for the intermediate attacking player’s training frequency and shot load. The frame holds its shape and repulsion characteristics under regular club-level play at 24–28 lbs tension.
- Kidambi Edition Design — Attacking Identity: The Kidambi Edition is Hundred’s product line inspired by Srikanth Kidambi’s attacking style. The design communicates a specific playing philosophy: bold, front-foot, first-strike badminton. At intermediate level, this edition makes Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket the racket for players who identify with attacking badminton and want their equipment to reflect that identity, while the technology delivers the aerodynamic performance that makes it more than just a branding exercise. The Nitrix Pro carries the same Kidambi Edition identity at professional construction.
Performance Ratings — Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket:
- Attack — 8.5/10: The combination of 6.5mm slim shaft aerodynamics, head-heavy balance, and flexible shaft elastic return produces strong attacking performance for intermediate players. The 6.5mm shaft’s reduced drag allows higher head speed at contact than wider shaft alternatives — this translates directly to faster shuttle on smashes and drives. The head-heavy balance adds momentum behind full rear-court swings. The flexible shaft provides power assistance for players who generate moderate swing speeds. The 32 lbs tension ceiling, while standard for this Nitrix tier, prevents very tight setups compared to the Atomic X Black Knight or Dark Sword at 38 lbs.
- Defence — 6.5/10: Head-heavy balance carries a defensive recovery penalty — directional changes from a defending position are slower than with neutral or head-light frames. The 6.5mm slim shaft partially compensates: its low rotational inertia allows faster wrist snap in quick exchanges than a wider shaft, so defensive lift shots and cross-court blocks feel more responsive than the head-heavy balance alone would suggest. Better defensively than the Dark Sword (84g) — the 5U option in particular provides noticeably faster recovery. But not a defensive tool: the Nitrix Attack is front-foot attacking equipment.
- Net Area — 7/10: The 6.5mm slim shaft is the Nitrix Attack’s net play advantage. The slim profile allows faster wrist rotation on net kills and reflex drives — the reduced moment of inertia means the racket responds more quickly to wrist input during tight exchanges at the net. The 5U weight grade significantly improves this further: at 75–79g with a slim shaft, the 5U Nitrix Attack is genuinely competitive at the net for attacking doubles front-court play. The head-heavy balance still penalises recovery speed after each shot, but less so than a 84g heavy-head alternative.
- Control — 7.5/10: The slim 6.5mm shaft provides good wrist-snap sensitivity that translates to above-average directional control on drives and drops. Flexible flex gives good shuttle hold on drops and slices — longer contact dwell time for placement feel. The head-heavy balance is less precise on very fast flat drives than a medium-stiff alternative, but the slim shaft’s wrist responsiveness partially compensates. Overall control is stronger than most intermediate head-heavy rackets at this price, primarily because the slim shaft allows more refined wrist action.
Racket Finder — Is Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket Right for You?
- Intermediate Attacking Player Who Wants Aerodynamic Shaft Speed: You want an attacking racket that generates fast shuttle speed with less swing effort — not through shaft whip or raw power, but through the aerodynamic advantage of a slim 6.5mm shaft that reaches higher head velocity for equivalent effort. Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket is the only intermediate Hundred racket at this price tier offering 6.5mm shaft aerodynamics. If faster head speed from the same swing is the priority, this is the correct choice within the Hundred range at GOS.
- Srikanth Kidambi Fan Who Wants an Intermediate Kidambi Edition Racket: You follow Indian badminton and identify with Kidambi’s attacking style. You want Kidambi Edition technology at intermediate level without the demanding hard flex and professional price of the Nitrix Pro. Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket is Hundred’s intermediate-accessible Kidambi Edition — same shaft diameter (6.5mm), same attacking identity, but with flexible shaft for intermediate timing requirements rather than the professional stiff shaft.
- Doubles Player or Multi-Format Player Choosing Between 4U and 5U: You play doubles frequently or split time between singles and doubles. The 5U Nitrix Attack’s combination of slim 6.5mm shaft and lighter 75–79g total weight makes it the most aerodynamically fast and net-responsive Hundred intermediate option in this review. If front-court doubles speed is the priority, the 5U is the correct weight grade. If rear-court singles smash power is the priority, the 4U is correct.
- Player Choosing Between Nitrix Attack and Nitrix Thunder: The Thunder (Rs. 5,590) offers Torsion Stop System for smash direction accuracy, Graphite Lab Build for structural stability, Curve² geometry for sweet spot size — all at a 7.0mm shaft and Rs. 1,000 less. The Nitrix Attack (Rs. 6,590) offers the 6.5mm slim shaft for aerodynamic speed and Kidambi Edition identity — but without Torsion Stop, Graphite Lab Build, or Curve². If structural precision and smash direction consistency are your priority, the Thunder is the better value. If aerodynamic shaft speed and Kidambi Edition are your priority, the Attack is correct.
Playing Style & Court Position Guide for Hundred Nitrix Attack Badminton Racket:
-
Singles Baseline Player (Rear-Court Dominant):
- Playing profile: You play singles with rear-court attacking as the dominant pattern — steep smashes, fast drives, and deep clears from the baseline.
- 4U: Ideal Match. Head-heavy balance adds momentum behind rear-court smashes. 6.5mm slim shaft provides faster head speed than wider alternatives for equivalent effort. 4U adds mass that the 5U sacrifices — important for rear-court singles power. String at 24–27 lbs for the best combination of power and shuttle hold from the baseline.
-
Doubles Rear-Court Attacker:
- Playing profile: You play doubles rear court, delivering smashes and fast drives from deep. Your partner covers the front.
- 4U: Good Match. Head-heavy 4U balance supports rear-court attacking. 6.5mm slim shaft produces fast shuttle acceleration in doubles exchanges where pace is faster than singles. If you rotate to front court frequently, the 5U is a better choice for the rotation demands of doubles play.
-
Doubles Net Player / Front Court Specialist:
- Playing profile: You play doubles front court — net kills, tight drops, fast cross-net exchanges, and reflex drives.
- 5U: Good Match. The 5U Nitrix Attack’s combination of slim 6.5mm shaft and 75–79g total weight makes it Hundred’s most aerodynamically responsive intermediate option for front-court play in this review group. Slim shaft allows faster wrist rotation on net kills. Lighter total weight improves recovery speed between exchanges. Still head-heavy, so not optimal versus a balanced or head-light frame, but competitive for an attacking head-heavy racket in this position.
-
All-Court Player (Singles and Doubles):
- Playing profile: You play both formats and cover the full court. You want one racket that works reasonably well across all positions.
- 5U: Good Match. The 5U Nitrix Attack’s aerodynamic slim shaft, lighter weight, and head-heavy balance make it the most all-court versatile option between 4U and 5U for multi-format players. The slim shaft allows more responsive wrist action across all court positions. Choose 4U only if rear-court singles power is the dominant priority over all-court versatility.
-
Player Who Wants Kidambi-Inspired Attacking Play:
- Playing profile: You play an aggressive first-strike attacking game — bold, front-foot, relentless. You want equipment that matches that philosophy.
- Both weights — Ideal Match. The Kidambi Edition is specifically designed for this playing philosophy. The 6.5mm slim shaft’s aerodynamic advantage supports the fast, penetrating attacking shot patterns that define Kidambi’s game. Choose 4U for singles-dominant attacking; choose 5U for doubles-dominant or multi-format bold attacking play.

The 4U weighs 80–84g and suits singles rear-court attacking for more mass behind smashes. The 5U weighs 75–79g and suits doubles play, mixed doubles front-court, and multi-format players who need faster swing initiation and quicker net recovery. Both share identical technology and MRP Rs. 6,590.
Maximum is 32 lbs. For intermediate players, 22–26 lbs is recommended for good power and shuttle hold. Advanced players can string at 26–28 lbs for tighter control. The 32 lbs ceiling is standard across the intermediate Nitrix series.
Both are head-heavy flexible Nitrix series rackets at 32 lbs. The Thunder (Rs. 5,590, 7.0mm) prioritises structural precision with Torsion Stop System for smash direction accuracy and Graphite Lab Build for frame stability. The Attack (Rs. 6,590, 6.5mm) prioritises aerodynamic shaft speed with the slim 6.5mm shaft and Kidambi Edition identity. Choose the Thunder for smash accuracy and structural precision at a lower price; choose the Attack for aerodynamic shaft speed and Kidambi brand connection.
Both are Kidambi Edition rackets with 6.5mm slim shafts. The Nitrix Pro (Rs. 13,290) uses hard flex and M46X premium Japanese carbon with AECG+ and T-Fuse — demanding professional construction. The Nitrix Attack (Rs. 6,590) uses flexible shaft and standard reinforced carbon — accessible intermediate construction. The Attack is the intermediate entry point to Kidambi Edition; the Pro is the professional performance expression at twice the price.
