Pant emphasized the importance of focusing on aspects within his control, rather than dwelling on external criticism.

“Mahi bhai always says one thing, ‘focus on controllables.’ You should always focus on the thought process, the practice, and its implementation in the match rather than if someone is criticizing you from the outside,” Pant said on Star Sports.

Pant’s approach to batting has often been described as high-risk, high-reward. However, the wicket-keeper batsman insists that he calculates his shots carefully and plays according to the situation. “I feel I am not playing any risky shots. I calculate everything as per my understanding of the game. It’s important to play the situation. Criticism toh hoga (criticism will be there), but not paying heed to that, I am giving my hundred percent on the field. And that’s important for me,” he added.

Dube has been in impressive form for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL, scoring 245 runs in seven games at an average of 49 and a strike rate of 157.05. Rinku Singh, on the other hand, has scored 83 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 162.75 and an average of 27.67.

However, Dube’s recent dismissal against Chennai Super Kings raised concerns about a flaw in his batting technique. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan pointed out that Dube’s tendency to play shots outside the off stump line could be exploited by bowlers.

In the IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock played a crucial role in LSG’s comfortable eight-wicket victory. The duo put on a match-winning partnership of 134, the highest for any wicket at the Ekana Stadium.

Despite his impressive form, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) coach Stephen Fleming has revealed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni cannot be promoted in the batting order due to his ongoing recovery from a knee injury.

Fleming, who affectionately refers to Dhoni as CSK’s “heartbeat,” praised the 42-year-old’s recent contributions, including a nine-ball 28 against Lucknow Super Giants. However, he emphasized that Dhoni’s physical limitations restrict his ability to bat for extended periods.

“Other years he has obviously had problems with his knee and he is sort of recovering from that which is why there is only a certain amount of balls he can function well,” Fleming explained.

To compensate for Dhoni’s limited batting time, Fleming has devised a “two-three over” approach. “I think everyone wants to see him for longer as we do but that amount of time is about right. We need him for the tournament and that 2-3 over cameo he is owning that space,” he said.

Fleming believes that the rest of the batting unit must step up and provide a solid foundation for Dhoni to finish the innings. “It’s up to the rest of the batting unit to get us to a good position where he can push us over the top. He is doing that pretty much every time at the moment which is great to watch,” he added.

Despite the challenges, Fleming remains proud of Dhoni’s contributions and the love he receives from fans. “We are incredibly proud of what he has achieved. We marvel at the amount of love that he gets. It’s no surprise with what he has done with Indian cricket and with CSK with us. We are incredibly proud that he is a part of our side and is pretty much the heartbeat of the side. We thoroughly enjoy it,” he said.

FIFA has faced legal challenges from agents in Europe who oppose the organization’s plans for tighter regulations. The football body wants to cap agent commissions at 10% of transfer fees for selling clubs and 3% to 10% of salaries for players they represent.

However, these rules have been stalled after agents won a key legal ruling in England. The London tribunal ruled that implementing FIFA’s regulations would violate competition law.

FIFA relies on its financial clearing house in Paris to track transfer and agent fees between clubs in different countries. The system also directs money from these deals to clubs that trained and developed players earlier in their careers.

Infantino stressed the importance of compensation and solidarity payments for less privileged clubs. He argued that these payments are vital for clubs struggling to generate sufficient revenue.

The FIFA leader called on governments and lawmakers to join the organization in ensuring that funds generated in transfers remain within football and are shared with clubs worldwide. He emphasized the crucial role of less wealthy clubs in developing future generations of footballers.

The Chinese Grand Prix sprint race marked the first of six sprints on the 2023 Formula One calendar. The new weekend format allows teams to adjust their car set-ups after the sprint race for GP qualifying, which was not previously allowed.
