"Nitrix smash power, without needing a pro's swing speed."

The Nitrix 70 Volta is one of two Nitrix 70 attacking rackets from Hundred. Both are head-heavy and built from M46X carbon on a Curve² frame, but they split on the shaft: the Venom uses a hard-flex 6.1mm shaft, while the Volta uses a flexible 7.0mm shaft. Hundred calls the Volta "a smash machine", with AECG+ carbon for snap-back and T-Fuse technology strengthening the core.

The flexible shaft is the Volta's key quality. It stores energy on the backswing and releases it into the shuttle, so heavy smashes and deep clears come with less effort and a wider timing window. The honest limitation is handling: like every head-heavy racket, it is slower in fast flat exchanges, and the flexible shaft gives a less crisp, direct response than the Venom. For club and tournament attackers who want Nitrix power without a stiff shaft, the Volta is excellent at its GOS price point.

What is the
Nitrix 70 Volta?

01 / 08

The Hundred Nitrix 70 Volta is a head-heavy attacking racket in Hundred's Nitrix series, the brand's power line. Hundred places it in its Pro Rackets range for professional-level players, and describes it as built for clean, aggressive power: a head-heavy balance and aerodynamic frame to generate maximum power in every swing.

It shares the Nitrix 70 name, M46X carbon and Curve² frame with the Nitrix 70 Venom, but the two are built for different swings. The Venom has a hard-flex, ultra-slim 6.1mm shaft for players who supply their own power. The Volta has a flexible 7.0mm shaft that adds whip to the swing, making Nitrix power accessible to a wider range of attacking players.

The Nitrix 70 Volta's defining decision is a flexible shaft in a head-heavy attacking frame. Head weight supplies the momentum; the flexible shaft stores energy and releases it at contact. Players get a heavy smash even when they are slightly late or off balance — at the cost of some of the crisp, direct feel of the Venom's hard-flex shaft.

Pro player: Alexandra Bøje (Denmark, mixed doubles) — world #2 in mixed doubles with Mathias Christiansen, 2026 European Champion, plays with the Nitrix 70 Volta.

Zone-by-zone assessment

Zone Rating Performance Assessment
Smashes 89 Exceptional The racket's identity. Head-heavy balance puts weight behind the shuttle and the flexible shaft helps release it, so heavy smashes come even from a slightly late swing.
Control 84 Good Stable on contact with a wide timing window, which helps consistency. Placement is less pin-point than with the Venom's hard-flex shaft.
Flat drives 83 Good Drives carry weight once the racket is moving. In very fast exchanges, the head weight and shaft flex make it a touch slower to respond.
Defence 82 Good The flexible shaft helps lifts and clears reach the baseline from a short swing. Recovery against repeated steep smashes is slower than with a head-light frame.
Net play 80 Good Net kills are powerful when the racket is up early. Fine net touch needs a little more care because of the head weight.
Maneuverability 78 Good Honest limitation. A head-heavy frame is slower to reset in fast flat exchanges at the front. The 4U is the quicker of the two weights at GOS.

Real on-court situations

Situation Level What the player feels
Full rear-court smash Exceptional Heavy and steep with a comfortable swing. This is the shot the Volta is built for.
Smash from a slightly late position Exceptional The flexible shaft still releases good pace, where a hard-flex frame gives much less back.
Deep clear from the baseline Exceptional Reaches the opposite baseline easily. Head weight and flex do much of the work.
Defensive lift under pressure Good Short swings still produce depth thanks to the shaft's whip.
Mid-court drive exchange in doubles Good Drives carry weight but feel less crisp than with a hard-flex shaft.
Net kill on a loose reply Good Powerful when the racket is up early. Late preparation shows more than with a lighter head.
Fast flat exchange at the front Good Keeps up, but the head mass is noticeable. Front-court specialists may prefer a head-light frame.
