Victor
DriveX 12
Victor's all-round flagship — a stiff, slim-shafted control racket for players who win by dictating pace and finishing with steep, accurate downward shots.
GOS verdict
Read this first"Victor's most complete all-rounder — precise, steep and demanding."
The DriveX 12 is the top of Victor's DriveX all-round line, and it carries nearly every recent Victor technology in one frame: Metallic Carbon Fiber in the shaft, the debut of WES 3.0, NANO AEROGEL and PYROFIL 46T in the frame, the DYNAMIC-HEX anti-torsion shape and a FREE CORE handle joined by POWER RING PRO. Victor built it for control-oriented players who like a solid hitting feel and attack with whipping, downward pushes.
The stiff 6.6mm shaft is its biggest strength and its biggest demand. With clean, early swings it is accurate and the downward angle is steep. With late or short swings it gives little back. The real limitation is handling: the frame carries more swing weight than a speed racket, so the fastest flat exchanges in doubles ask more of the wrist. For advanced Indian club and tournament players who play from the mid and rear court and want control first, the DriveX 12 is excellent at its GOS price point.
- A control-first all-court player

- Moving up from a medium-flex all-rounder
- A front-court player who lives on fast flat exchanges
- A beginner or still building a full swing
- Looking for free power from a flexible shaft
- Wanting the lightest, quickest racket head

What is the
DriveX 12?
01 / 08
The Victor DriveX 12 (style code DX-12, sold at GOS as the DriveX 12 Metallic) launched in 2025 as the flagship of Victor's DriveX line, the brand's all-round series. Victor describes it as a speed-oriented all-round racket, and its campaign message is about controlling the pace of a rally rather than overpowering it.
Where Victor's Thruster rackets are built around head-heavy attack and the Auraspeed line around head-light speed, the DriveX 12 sits between them: a stiff, slim 6.6mm shaft, a frame filled with NANO AEROGEL and PYROFIL 46T, and a balance aimed at steep downward shots without giving up all-court handling.
The DriveX 12's defining decision is putting Metallic Carbon Fiber into the shaft, paired with the first WES 3.0 shaft layering. Victor's aim is a solid, elastic contact and more direct force transfer, so the racket switches cleanly between defence and attack — accurate pace control rather than raw flex power.
Confirmed professional endorser: Fajar Alfian (Indonesia, men's doubles) — career-high world #1 with Muhammad Rian Ardianto, All England champion in 2023 and 2024. Victor names him as the DriveX 12's player. Indonesian men's singles star Anthony Ginting — Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist and career-high world #2 — also plays with it (see his player gear profile).

The stiff metallic shaft — why give an all-rounder a stiff shaft?
DriveX 12 — Stiff 6.6mm + WES 3.0
Conventional — Medium-flex shaft
Thin metal sheet fused with high-strength carbon fibre. In the DriveX 12 it goes into the shaft, where Victor uses it for an elastic, solid contact and more direct force transmission — shot speed with precise direction.
The third generation of Victor's Whipping Enhance System shaft layering, introduced on this racket. Paired with Metallic Carbon Fiber, it is designed to sharpen pace control when switching between defence and attack.
An ultra-light aerogel filler and high-modulus Japanese PYROFIL carbon in the frame. Victor uses the combination for frame strength, durability and stability without adding mass.
A spiral anti-torsion frame cross-section that resists twisting on contact, so shots stay on line — the structural basis of the DriveX 12's control.
The shaft and FREE CORE handle are joined with POWER RING PRO, Victor's integration for cleaner power delivery from the grip into the shaft.
Reinforcement layers in the High Resilience Modulus Graphite frame, which Victor rates to 32 lbs in 4U and 33 lbs in 3U.

Zone-by-zone assessment
| Zone | Rating | Performance | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control | 90 | Exceptional | The racket's identity. DYNAMIC-HEX resists frame twist and the stiff Metallic Carbon Fiber shaft passes swing input straight to the shuttle. Placement on pushes, drops and half-smashes is precise and repeatable. |
| Smashes | 89 | Exceptional | Slightly head-heavy balance and WES 3.0 give a steep downward angle. Its strength is placement and angle more than raw pace — independent reviewers rate its outright smash power just behind the Astrox 88D Pro. |
| Flat drives | 87 | Exceptional | Solid, stable contact in mid-court drive and push exchanges, where Victor designed it to switch pace. Drives stay flat and on line. |
| Net play | 85 | Exceptional | Good shuttle hold on net shots and drops, with a stable frame on tight contacts. Net kills are accurate, but the head is not as quick to the tape as a head-light speed racket. |
| Defence | 80 | Good | Blocks and lifts are stable and stay on line. The extra head mass costs some recovery time against repeated steep smashes compared with an even or head-light frame. |
| Maneuverability | 78 | Good | Honest limitation. The DriveX 12 carries more swing weight than a speed racket, so the fastest flat exchanges in doubles ask more of the wrist and forearm. This is a control racket, not a reflex racket. |
Real on-court situations
| Situation | Level | What the player feels |
|---|---|---|
| Steep half-smash to the body in doubles | Exceptional | The shuttle drops sharply and goes where it was aimed. This is the shot the DriveX 12 is built around. |
| Mid-court push to switch pace | Exceptional | Solid contact and a clean change of tempo. The stiff shaft keeps the push flat and deliberate. |
| Straight drop from the rear court | Exceptional | Good hold on the strings and a precise landing spot. Easy to disguise against a smash. |
| Full rear-court jump smash | Exceptional | Steep and accurate when the swing is full and on time. A late or short swing gets little help from the stiff shaft. |
| Block against a steep smash | Good | Stable and on line. Recovery for the next shot is a little slower than with a head-light frame. |
| Fast flat exchange at the front in doubles | Good | Accurate, but the head mass is noticeable when exchanges get very fast. Players who live at the front may want something quicker. |
| Deep clear under pressure | Good | Reaches the baseline with a committed swing. The stiff shaft does not add free depth on a short or rushed swing. |
