REDDING, Conn. – Under the watchful eye of former WTA Top 200 doubles player Gabriela Niculescu, the Redding Warriors tennis team kicked off their 2024 season with a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Despite a narrow loss in their opening match, the team displayed promising signs of improvement and a commitment to looking forward.

Niculescu, who has guided the Warriors to success in the past, emphasized the importance of staying focused on the present and not dwelling on past mistakes. This message resonated with the team, particularly during a crucial tiebreaker in the deciding set.

As Ed McGrogan, the team’s new captain, prepared for a pivotal shot, he couldn’t resist glancing back at his doubles partner, Tim Mendola.
