Indian Tennis Stars Nagal and Bopanna to Lead Charge at US Open 2024

The US Open 2024, the final Grand Slam of the year, is set to commence on Monday, August 26th, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. India’s tennis contingent will be led by Sumit Nagal and Rohan Bopanna.

Nagal, currently ranked 72nd in the ATP rankings, has had a challenging year, facing early exits in the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. However, he made history at the Paris Olympics by becoming the second Indian to qualify for the singles event since Leander Paes.

Bopanna, on the other hand, has enjoyed success in doubles. Partnering with Matthew Ebden of Australia, they are seeded second in the men’s doubles at the US Open. The duo reached the final last year but fell short against Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury. They are also the reigning Australian Open champions.

The US Open 2024 will feature a star-studded field, including defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Iga Swiatek. The tournament will be broadcast live in India on the Sony Sports Network and streamed on SonyLiv.
