Manchester United’s target Rafael Leao has extended his contract with Ligue 1 club AC Milan. As per 90min, Leao has now agreed to a new five-year contract at San Siro, with the player’s representatives informing interested parties of the decision.
Rafael Leao has announced himself as one of the world’s premier forwards in recent years, firing Milan to their first Scudetto in over a decade last season. He won Serie A’s MVP award for his stellar performances last season.
Rafael Leao, who has won 18 international caps for Portugal, joined Milan from Lille in 2018 and has since racked up over 125 appearances for the club. Whilst bidding to make the Champions League final this season, Milan’s future in the competition is still uncertain ahead of the next campaign, with Pioli’s side sitting fifth in Serie A behind Inter, Lazio, Juventus, and champions Napoli.
Not only would Champions League glory earn the club their first European triumph since 2007, but it would also secure their status in the competition ahead of next term.
To make matters worse, the San Siro-based club lost the first leg of their semi-final tie against Inter Milan. The Milan vs Milan tie saw Inter scoring two wonderful goals to win the first leg. The two clubs will go head-to-head in the second leg on May 16.
