Slater’s Record-Breaking Ton, Lord’s Five-Wicket Haul Power Notts to Victory

Nottinghamshire Outlaws’ Ben Slater and Rob Lord starred in a dominant performance against Surrey in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. Slater’s blistering 164 and Lord’s impressive 5 for 45 led Notts to a commanding 107-run victory.

Slater, taking advantage of Guildford’s short boundaries, unleashed a barrage of nine sixes and 12 fours in his List A best innings. His 119-ball knock, alongside Jack Haynes’ fluent 86, formed a formidable 187-run partnership, setting a new List A second-wicket record for Notts against Surrey.

Surrey’s chase was hampered by Lord’s exceptional bowling. The young seamer, making his second senior appearance, showcased his talent with a devastating spell, claiming five wickets. Only Dom Sibley (72) provided resistance for Surrey, while tailender Conor McKerr’s late fireworks (71 off 36) proved futile.

Notts’ total of 378 for 6 was their highest in List A matches against Surrey. Haseeb Hameed, Lyndon James, and Matthew Montgomery contributed valuable runs, while Tom Moores’ unbeaten 24 ensured a challenging target.

Surrey’s response began promisingly with Patel and Sibley adding 66 for the first wicket. However, Moores’ stunning catch to dismiss Ben Geddes proved pivotal. Rory Burns, Ben Foakes, and Cameron Steel fell in quick succession, leaving Surrey reeling.

Sibley’s departure in the 31st over effectively ended Surrey’s hopes. Lord continued his impressive display, claiming Josh Blake’s wicket two overs later. McKerr and Nathan Barnwell briefly threatened with a 71-run stand, but James and Luke Fletcher wrapped up the innings, securing Notts’ third win in Group B.

Glamorgan Crush Notts Outlaws with Career-Best Performances

Glamorgan Crush Notts Outlaws with Career-Best Performances

Glamorgan’s dominance in the Metro Bank One Day Cup continued as they secured an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire Outlaws at the Gnoll in Neath. Career-best performances from Andy Gorvin and Eddie Byrom propelled Glamorgan to their third consecutive win in the competition.

Nottinghamshire’s batting lineup struggled against Glamorgan’s disciplined bowling attack. Gorvin led the charge with a remarkable 5-for-56, while Jamie McIlroy and Dan Douthwaite chipped in with two wickets each. The Outlaws were restricted to 274 for 9, with Haseeb Hameed’s 89 being the only significant contribution.

Glamorgan’s chase was a stark contrast to Notts’ struggles. Byrom and Will Smale forged a solid opening partnership of 103, setting the platform for a comfortable victory. Byrom went on to score an unbeaten 123, while Colin Ingram contributed 103 to guide Glamorgan home with ease.

The victory solidifies Glamorgan’s position at the top of Group B, ahead of Warwickshire on net run rate. The Outlaws, on the other hand, remain winless after three matches.

Glamorgan’s bowlers set the tone for the match, restricting Notts to a modest total. Gorvin’s accuracy and variations proved too much for the Outlaws’ batsmen, while McIlroy and Douthwaite provided excellent support.

Byrom and Ingram’s partnership was a masterclass in batting. They punished anything short and took full advantage of the small boundaries at the Gnoll. Byrom’s unbeaten century was his highest score in List A cricket, while Ingram’s hundred was his 10th in the format.

Glamorgan’s victory is a testament to their depth and quality. They have now won all three of their matches in the Metro Bank One Day Cup and will be confident of continuing their winning streak in the upcoming fixtures.

Nottinghamshire Outlaws Crush Yorkshire Vikings by 83 Runs in One-Day Cup

Nottinghamshire Outlaws Crush Yorkshire Vikings by 83 Runs in One-Day Cup

Nottinghamshire Outlaws emerged victorious in their Metro Bank One-Day Cup clash against Yorkshire Vikings, securing an 83-run triumph at the picturesque Welbeck Cricket Club ground.

The Outlaws’ innings got off to a shaky start, with Ben Coad’s superb bowling claiming three early wickets. However, Lyndon James stepped up with a valiant 76, hitting 10 fours and a six to rescue Notts from a precarious 60 for 5. Liam Patterson-White’s 38 also provided valuable support.

Yorkshire’s chase began promisingly, but Brett Hutton’s exceptional bowling proved too much to handle. Hutton claimed six wickets for just 38 runs, including the prized scalp of Coad, who had earlier impressed with both bat and ball.

The Vikings’ top order crumbled under Hutton’s relentless pressure, with only skipper Haseeb Hameed (32) offering any resistance. Yorkshire’s middle order also failed to make an impact, as James Wharton and Matthew Revis fell cheaply.

With the score at 53 for 8, Coad and Leech attempted to salvage the situation, but James’ bowling proved too strong. Coad was caught behind for 31, while Leech was bowled for 21, handing Notts a comprehensive victory.

James’ all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award, while Hutton’s six-wicket haul cemented his status as the match’s standout bowler.
