Gong’s arduous route traversed diverse landscapes and cultures, taking him through Kazakhstan, Georgia, Iran, and Qatar. Despite language barriers, economic constraints, and physical exhaustion, he persevered, relying on basic provisions and an indomitable spirit.
Upon hearing of Gong’s extraordinary journey, Ronaldo’s team arranged a memorable meeting outside the Al Nassr Football Club in Riyadh. The iconic footballer signed Gong’s shirt, took photos with him, and acknowledged the immense effort he had undertaken.
Gong’s journey was inspired by Ronaldo’s canceled visit to China in February due to injury. To prepare for his epic adventure, he packed essentials, including power banks, a tent, cooking utensils, and clothes.
