In response, the Hurricanes’ batting lineup faltered, with only Elyse Villani (44 off 39) managing to make a significant contribution. Tahlia McGrath, the Strikers’ captain, led the bowling attack with an impressive 4 for 13, while Megan Schutt and Anesu Mushangwe chipped in with two wickets each.

India A, batting first, struggled to post a competitive total, managing only 120 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Tayla Vlaeminck, returning to the Australia A lineup, made an immediate impact, dismissing Shubha Satheesh for a duck in the first over.

The Indian top and middle order failed to capitalize on the opportunity, with Priya Punia, Shweta Sehrawat, and Tanuja Kanwar all falling cheaply.
