Armaan Bhatia Reaches Three Finals at PWR DUPR India Masters Pickleball Tournament

Armaan Bhatia, a rising star in Indian pickleball, has continued his impressive run at the PWR DUPR India Masters Pickleball Tournament, reaching the finals in three categories: mixed doubles, men’s singles, and men’s doubles.

In the mixed doubles semi-finals, Bhatia and his Dutch partner Roos Van Reek defeated the Indian-Australian pair of Vishal Masand and Sarah Burr in straight sets (11-5, 11-1). They will face the Australian duo of George Wall and Danni Townsend in the final.

Bhatia’s journey to the mixed doubles final included a quarterfinal victory over the Australian pair of Kaitlynn Hart and Mitchell Hargreaves. The Indo-Dutch pair dominated the first set (11-1) and held their own in the second (11-6) to secure a straight-games win.

In the men’s singles, Bhatia will face top-seeded Dusty Boyer of the United States, who also transitioned from professional tennis. Boyer expressed his anticipation for the match, acknowledging Bhatia’s impressive form.

Bhatia’s transition to pickleball has been a successful one. Despite his background in tennis, he has quickly adapted to the sport, utilizing his quick hands and effective volleys at the net.

“It wasn’t too tough for me to make the transition,” Bhatia said. “Getting rid of muscle memory is not easy, but I’m happy with how I’ve adjusted.”

Bhatia’s success in pickleball is a testament to his athleticism and determination. He is poised to make a strong showing in the finals on Sunday, aiming for a hat-trick of titles.
