GOS verdict
Read this first"Precise power — if you bring the swing."
The Maxbolt Superstar 10 is an all-rounder from Maxbolt's Superstar series. Maxbolt lists it with a 295 ± 2mm balance point, a 43 lbs tension rating and an "All Rounder" play style, and makes it in 3U and 4U. At GOS it is the 3U version, around 86g, with a stiff 40T carbon graphite shaft — an even-balanced frame with a little more mass behind every shot than a 4U racket.
Control is its strongest zone, with smashes and drives close behind: the stiff shaft sends a fast swing straight into the shuttle, and the even balance keeps it accurate. The honest limitation is handling speed. A 3U frame with a stiff shaft is slower to bring back in rushed net and defensive exchanges, and it gives little help to a swing that is not yet fast and clean. For an advanced player who wants precise, directed power in one frame, it is a strong option at its GOS price point.

- Looking for easy, forgiving power

What is the
Superstar 10?
01 / 08
The Maxbolt Superstar 10 is an all-round racket from Maxbolt's Superstar series. Maxbolt lists it with a 295 ± 2mm balance point, a standard 675mm length, a 43 lbs tension rating and an "All Rounder" play style, and offers it in 3U and 4U. At GOS it comes in 3U, around 86g, with a G5 grip.
The build is about precision. The shaft is 40T carbon graphite with a stiff flex, so it barely bends through the swing and sends the energy straight into the shuttle. The even balance keeps the racket stable and accurate rather than tipping its weight into the head, and the 3U frame adds a little mass behind every shot. A 43 lbs rating lets advanced players string it tight for a crisp, controlled string bed.
The Superstar 10's defining decision is pairing an even balance with a stiff shaft in a 3U frame. Most attacking rackets get their power from head weight; the Superstar 10 gets it from shaft response and overall mass instead, so its power is well directed rather than simply heavy. If you want the same formula in a lighter, quicker 4U frame, read our Maxbolt Superstar 11 review.

A stiff shaft with an even balance — where does the power come from?
Superstar 10 — stiff shaft, even balance
Alternative — head-heavy, flexible (Superstar Swift)
A stiff shaft transfers swing speed straight into the shuttle rather than flexing and releasing it. With a fast, clean stroke, that means sharp, well-directed pace; with a slow swing, it gives little help.
The weight is spread evenly along the frame, keeping it stable and accurate. The 3U frame adds a little more mass behind the shot than a 4U racket, at the cost of some handling speed.
A box-section frame resists twisting at contact, keeping the string bed stable for precise placement.
A very high rating, so advanced players can string tight for a crisp, controlled feel. Most still get the best results well below the maximum.

Zone-by-zone assessment
| Zone | Rating | Performance | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control | 90 | Exceptional | The racket's identity. An even balance with a stiff, high-grade carbon shaft is a genuinely precise combination for a player with the technique to use it. |
| Smashes | 88 | Exceptional | Sharp, well-directed smashes from shaft response and the 3U frame's mass, rather than from head weight. |
| Flat drives | 86 | Exceptional | The stiff shaft fires drives flat and fast, and the even balance keeps them on line. |
| Defence | 78 | Good | The even balance helps more than a head-heavy frame would, but the 3U weight and stiff shaft ask more of a rushed defensive block. |
| Net play | 77 | Good | Accurate net shots when you arrive early; quick net exchanges favour a lighter 4U frame. |
| Maneuverability | 76 | Good | Honest limitation. A 3U frame with a stiff shaft is slower to bring back in rushed exchanges than the 4U Superstar 11. |
Real on-court situations
| Situation | Level | What the player feels |
|---|---|---|
| Steep smash to the sideline | Exceptional | Sharp and placed exactly — precise rather than heavy. |
| Drop or slice from the back | Exceptional | Very accurate off the stiff shaft. |
| Flat drive exchange | Exceptional | Fast, flat and on line. |
| Deep clear under pressure | Good | Reaches the back with a full, clean swing; the shaft will not do the work for you. |
| Net kill when arriving early | Good | Firm and precise. |
| Block against a body smash | Good | Stable, but the 3U frame takes a moment longer to get there. |
| Slightly mistimed shot | Adequate | The stiff shaft does not forgive much — clean contact matters. |
