Sunday, 8th June proved to be an unforgettable evening for all the Tennis fans as fans were entertained by pure tennis at Roland Garros. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz came back from behind to defeat Jannik Sinner in the French Open 2025 men’s singles final.
The game started with Sinner taking the first two sets, 6-4 & 7-6 easily. However, it turned on its head as Alcaraz, who uses the Babolat Pure Aero 98 Tennis Racquet, came into his own in the second half of the match, winning the game, 4-6, 6-7, 6-7 in three straight sets.
The 2025 French Open final between Sinner & Alcaraz lasted a massive five hours and twenty-nine minutes, the longest ever French Open final. The match surpassed the previous best of 4 hours and 42 minutes, which took place between Mats Vilander & Guillermo Vilas in 1982.
Defending his trophy, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz won his fifth Grand Slam tournament in as many finals. After lifting the trophy, Alcaraz stated, “I am just really, really happy to be able to make history with you in this tournament, in other tournaments; you are a huge inspiration to young kids and to me.”

He also thanked the fans, who played a key role in his win. “Then, Paris, guys, I mean, you have been a really important support to me since the first practice, since the first round,” he said.
“You were unbelievable. You were insane for me. I mean, I just can’t, can’t thank enough, you know, to you for the great support during the whole week, for today’s match”.
In addition to this unforgettable final, the women’s singles match also saw some exhilarating action between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka, with Gauff taking home victory in three straight sets (6–7(5–7), 6–2, 6–4).
After this unforgettable victory, Alcaraz will now be focusing on Wimbledon 2025, which is scheduled to start from 30th June in London.
