Premier League champions Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Season 2022-23 for the fourth consecutive time. The Spaniard took his club Manchester City to the title for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
Pep Guardiola has been a boon for Manchester City. The former Barcelona manager guided City to their third Premier League title in a row and a fifth in six years, as well as securing places in the final of the FA Cup and Champions League. “I am at an incredible football club and without all of the support that I have had throughout my time here, this would not have been possible,” Guardiola said in a club statement.
Guardiola is only the second manager in Premier League history to have won more than three awards after Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson. He faced competition from Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi, Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe, and Fulham’s Marco Silva to win the prestigious award.
Manchester City released a statement congratulating Pep Guardiola for his achievements and well-deserved honour.
After winning the Premier League, Manchester City have an important task cut out for them. The champions will be facing fellow Manchester rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final. Also, they have the most important match of the season i.e. Champions League final against Inter Milan.
