Cricket administration has witnessed a historic move as Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the new chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). At the age of 35, Jay Shah makes history by becoming the youngest chairman to lead Cricket’s global governing body, succeeding New Zealand’s Greg Barclay.
Jay Shah is set to take the throne at the end of November 2024. Upon his election, he expressed his thoughts of making cricket more inclusive and popular across the globe. He stated, “We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets”.
