After his stellar performance in the 2022 U-19 World Cup, where he was named Player of the Match in the final, Bawa made his Ranji Trophy debut for Chandigarh. However, injuries plagued him, limiting his playing time.

While comparisons to Hardik Pandya are inevitable, Bawa remains focused on his own journey. He recognizes the rise of other all-rounders, such as Nitish Kumar Reddy, as a challenge that motivates him to improve.
