David Miller Marries Longtime Girlfriend Camilla Harris in Cape Town

South African cricket star David Miller and his longtime girlfriend, Camilla Harris, tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony in Cape Town on Sunday. The explosive batter, who represents Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and Camilla shared heartwarming pictures and videos of their special day on social media.

The intimate event was attended by close friends and family, including several of Miller’s teammates like Aiden Markram, Quinton De Kock, and Mark Boucher. Camilla, a professional polo player, was seen cheering for Miller during his stint with GT in the IPL 2023 season.

Meanwhile, Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade will miss Gujarat Titans’ first match of the upcoming IPL 2024 to participate in the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania. The Sheffield Shield final will take place from March 21st to 25th, and Wade will miss GT’s first game against Mumbai Indians on March 25.

However, his presence in GT’s second game against Chennai Super Kings on March 27 “could be tight,” according to ESPNcricinfo. GT’s third game of the tournament will take place on March 31 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Tasmania head coach Jeff Vaughan confirmed that Wade has spoken to GT, and the IPL franchise has allowed him to take part in the Sheffield Shield final. “He’s spoken with his IPL franchise and they’re happy to allow him to stay here, which probably equates to him potentially missing their first game. We feel very fortunate to have someone of Matt’s ilk coming back into our group, and his experience and his performances at the back end of our season,” Vaughan said.

Matthew Wade, the Australian wicketkeeper-batter, will miss the Gujarat Titans’ (GT) opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 to participate in the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania. The Sheffield Shield final will be held from March 21st to 25th, coinciding with GT’s first game against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 25th.

Wade’s presence for GT’s second match against Chennai Super Kings on March 27th is uncertain, while his availability for their third game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 31st is also in doubt.

Tasmania head coach Jeff Vaughan confirmed that Wade has received permission from GT to play in the Sheffield Shield final. “He’s spoken with his IPL franchise and they’re happy to allow him to stay here, which probably equates to him potentially missing their first game,” Vaughan said.

Wade, who spent 10 years with Victoria, returned to Tasmania in the 2017-18 Sheffield Shield season and was part of the team that lost the final to Queensland.

GT will enter IPL 2024 without Hardik Pandya, who has rejoined Mumbai Indians as captain. Shubman Gill will lead the Gujarat Titans in Pandya’s absence.

Tribal Cricketer Robin Minz Injured in Accident After IPL Auction

Tribal Cricketer Robin Minz Injured in Accident After IPL Auction

Robin Minz, the 21-year-old tribal cricketer from Jharkhand, who made headlines at the IPL 2024 auction, has met with an accident, his father confirmed on Sunday. The promising left-handed batter, known for his big-hitting abilities, was bought by the Gujarat Titans for a whopping Rs 3.60 crore.

According to reports, Minz was riding a Kawasaki superbike when he collided with another bike and lost control. The accident resulted in severe damage to the front half of his bike, and Minz sustained bruises on his right knee. He is currently under observation, but his father, Francis Minz, assured that his condition is not serious.

Minz’s cricketing journey has been guided by experienced coach Chanchal Bhattacharya, who also mentored former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Originally from Gumla district in Jharkhand, Minz came into the spotlight when he was noticed by the Mumbai Indians, who facilitated his training in the United Kingdom.

Despite not yet representing Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy, Minz has been part of the state’s U19 and U25 teams. He has also undergone trials with various IPL franchises, including Lucknow Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the lead-up to the IPL 2024 auction, Minz garnered attention during the mock auction, with former India cricketer Robin Uthappa describing him as the “left-handed Kieron Pollard.” His impressive performances in domestic tournaments and his potential as a big-hitter made him a sought-after player in the auction.

Minz’s accident is a setback, but his father expressed confidence that he will recover quickly and continue his cricketing journey. He is expected to make his IPL debut in the upcoming season, where he will likely compete with experienced Indian keeper Wriddhiman Saha for a spot in the playing XI.
