Kohli Unfazed by Criticism, Doull Advises Ignoring Social Media

Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket legend, has been facing relentless criticism for his batting approach and strike rate in the ongoing IPL 2024. Despite being one of the tournament’s leading run-scorers, Kohli has been questioned about his inclusion in India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Following Royal Challengers Bangalore’s victory over Gujarat Titans, Kohli addressed the criticism, stating that he is unfazed by the chatter. However, former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull believes Kohli should not be paying attention to social media.

“Why is he bothering? I mean, seriously, the bloke is such a good player. Why is he bothering reading the rubbish that some people write or why are people reading it and telling him? I don’t understand that,” Doull said on Cricbuzz.

Doull questioned why Kohli would engage with social media and use it to justify his actions in post-match interviews. He suggested that Kohli may be reading social media or having someone else read it for him.

Kohli, in his response, emphasized that his priority is winning games for his team, not maintaining a specific strike rate. “For me, it’s about winning the games for the team and there’s a reason why you’ve done it for 15 years, you’ve done this day in and day out, you’ve won games for your teams,” Kohli said.

Doull acknowledged Kohli’s experience but argued that those who have not played at the highest level may not fully understand the challenges involved. He suggested that Kohli should focus on his own game and not be distracted by external noise.

“People can talk about their assumptions day in and day out, but those who have done day in and day out, they know what’s happening and it’s a kind of muscle memory for me now,” Kohli said.

Rinku Singh’s Off-Field Antics: Mimicking Players, Receiving Bats from Kohli

Rinku Singh, the rising star of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has become a fan favorite not only for his exceptional batting skills but also for his off-field antics. His social media presence has been a major factor in his popularity, with his fans eagerly sharing his activities outside the cricket pitch.

Recently, Rinku appeared on the KKR Dugout Podcast alongside coach Abhishek Nayar, where he showcased his impressive ability to imitate other players. When asked by host Cyrus Broacha to mimic various cricketers, Rinku enthusiastically recreated the batting stances of Nitish Rana and Virat Kohli, as well as the bowling action of Varun Chakravarthy.

Rinku’s off-field antics have also extended to his interactions with Virat Kohli. Earlier this season, Rinku received a bat from Kohli, marking the second time the Indian captain had gifted him a bat. In a viral video, Rinku was seen requesting another bat from Kohli, who appeared slightly amused when Rinku mentioned that he had broken the previous one.

After KKR’s thrilling one-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens, Rinku approached Kohli once again for another bat. In a video posted by KKR on social media, Rinku explained to Kohli that the bat he had received earlier had broken while facing a spinner.

It seems that Rinku’s request was not in vain, as he has now received a new bat from Kohli. In a trending video on social media, the left-handed batter is seen showing off the bat to a fan.

Rinku’s off-field antics have not only entertained his fans but have also highlighted his close relationship with Virat Kohli. The young batter’s ability to connect with fans on a personal level has contributed to his growing popularity, making him one of the most talked-about players in the Indian Premier League.

Shelby Rogers Goes Viral with Five-Year-Old Workout Video

Will Smith’s Instagram followers were surprised to see a video of American tennis player Shelby Rogers in his story. The video showcased Rogers performing impressive lower-body stretches with kettle bells while in a handstand position.

Rogers revealed that the video was actually five years old and had resurfaced as a memory on her phone. She shared it again, unaware that it would go viral. “I’m officially viral now! My first viral video,” she exclaimed.

Rogers’ social media presence has been enhanced by her collaboration with Jakub Ostajewski, a 22-year-old member of her coaching team. Ostajewski has introduced her to Gen Z trends, including a creative video soundtracked to Elvis Presley’s “Burning Love” that marked the start of the clay-court season.

Rogers’ newfound social media savvy is part of a larger shift in perspective she has adopted after a knee surgery that sidelined her for the second half of last season. She has realized the importance of appreciating the beauty of the cities she visits and finding joy in the little things.

“I wanted to just be able to take a step back, be outside of myself a little bit, and just really appreciate everything around it,” she said. “It helps me be a little more present, which is just helpful for playing tennis better, enjoying everything, finding joy in the little things.”

Rogers’ return to the tour has been marked by a renewed sense of gratitude and a determination to make the most of every moment. Her viral video and her active social media presence are testaments to her positive outlook and her commitment to connecting with her fans.

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan Shuts Down Racist Troll, Highlights Racism in Society

Former Indian cricket team spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has recently faced a racist remark on social media, to which he responded with a powerful statement. Sivaramakrishnan posted a picture of himself from the Ayyappan temple in Mahalingapuram, Tamil Nadu, which included an elephant. A user commented, “Hii sir that elephant is more visible in night than you.”

Sivaramakrishnan responded with dignity and assertiveness, stating, “Yes I am dark” and adding, “It’s a temple festival and you people are so cheap.” The user made further comments, which were later deleted.

Sivaramakrishnan’s response has been widely praised for its strength and grace. It highlights the ongoing issue of racism in society and the importance of standing up against it.

In a separate incident, Sivaramakrishnan expressed his disappointment with the treatment he received from veteran Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Sivaramakrishnan claimed that Ashwin disconnected his calls and did not reply to his congratulatory messages on his 100th Test milestone.

“Tried calling him a few times to wish him for his 100th Test. Just cut off my call. Sent him a message, no reply. That’s the respect we former cricketers get,” Sivaramakrishnan wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming praised Rachin Ravindra for his impressive debut performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Ravindra scored 37 runs off just 15 balls, including three fours and three sixes.

Fleming emphasized the importance of encouraging players to play to their strengths and creating a comfortable environment for them. He also praised Ravindra’s ability to handle the pressure of his debut match.
