Boxing enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the highly publicized clash between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTube sensation Jake Paul, scheduled to take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. With the fight just days away, the verbal sparring between the two has reached a fever pitch, hinting at an explosive encounter in the ring.
Tyson, despite being 31 years older than his opponent and having not fought professionally in nearly two decades, is determined to unleash his fury upon Paul. During an open workout session, he issued a chilling warning: “I’m bringing the devil himself [to the ring].”
The fight has been granted official professional status, and Tyson intends to treat it as such. “There are no feelings attached,” he declared. “When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him.”
Paul, for his part, shares a similar mindset. “It’s war; all is fair in love and war,” he stated. “He’s taking this very, very seriously and that’s what’s going to make the fight amazing for all the fans. He’s a killer.”
Tyson’s last professional fight was in 2005, a loss to Kevin McBride. However, he has participated in several exhibition fights since then, including a bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Paul, on the other hand, has a record of 10-1 but has never fought in the heavyweight class.
The fight will be streamed worldwide by Netflix, marking their latest venture into live sports broadcasting. Tyson vs Paul will headline the event, with Mario Barrios defending his welterweight title against Abel Ramos and Katie Taylor defending her lightweight title against Amanda Serrano on the undercard.
