MI Players Engage in Fun ‘Letters Game’, Share Witty Responses

In a lighthearted video shared by the Mumbai Indians (MI) on social media, players engaged in a fun “letters game” where they drew an alphabet from a box and shared the first word that came to mind.

Jasprit Bumrah, the star pacer, associated “M” with MS Dhoni, the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman. Veteran legspinner Piyush Chawal, on the other hand, chose “Master Blaster” for the same letter.

Interestingly, several players who drew “R” immediately thought of Rohit Sharma, the MI captain. The video commenced with Rohit and Ishan Kishan participating in the game. Rohit drew “G” and humorously remarked, “Garden mei ghoomo mat (don’t walk in the park).” The trio erupted in laughter.

Rohit’s reference to “garden” stemmed from a memorable incident during the India vs England Test series. The stump microphone captured Rohit cautioning his teammates, “Agar koi garden mei ghoomta nazar aaya…” (If anyone is seen walking in the park), implying a lack of alertness on the field.

The phrase quickly gained popularity among cricket enthusiasts. Rohit himself later shared an image on Instagram with his teammates, captioning it “Garden mein ghoomne wale ladke (the boys who walk in the park).”

When asked about the incident on Kapil Sharma’s comedy show, Rohit jokingly replied, “Hamare ladke sust murge hain (our boys are lazy chickens).”

The video showcased the camaraderie and lighthearted spirit within the MI team. It also highlighted the enduring popularity of Rohit’s “garden” remark, which has become a humorous reference in the cricket world.
